There has been something brewing in my mind for a long while now that I haven’t talked about but which I think very much needs to be talked about. That is, if Islam is the “religion of peace” that it and its supporters claim it is then why are Muslims around the world killing Christians? Sorry but that doesn’t fit the profile of a “religion of peace” in my opinion. Further, why are Muslims killing fellow Muslims if Islam is a “religion of peace”? That doesn’t fit my definition of a religion of peace either. There is an old bit of wisdom that says “actions speak louder than words” and when you look at Muslims killing Christians and fellow Muslims their actions speak volumes against Islam being a religion of peace!
Recently I visited a website called persecution.com and found all sorts of stories on there about Muslims killing Christians which I found upsetting. For instance, take the recent slaughter of Christians in Nigeria by the Islamic extemists Boko Haram group. They’ve killed 40 Christians attending a Christmas Service in Nigeria and violence in Nigeria against Christians is growing. Another example. Take Iran where the state security services have ordered local Christian churches to cancel this past Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. And Churches in Egypt, Malaysia, and Pakistan also closed over the holidays in fear of attacks by Muslim extemists. That’s appalling!
For Christians living in mainly Muslim nations it seems that the holidays that are suppose to be filled with peace and joy are marred by death and fear and all because Christians desire to celebrate their faith in Christ. In some Muslim countries saying “Merry Christmas” is considered worse than killing someone or fornication! That’s astounding for a religion, Islam, that claims to be a religion of peace. Where is the peace?
In Indonesia alone incidents of violence committed against Christians almost doubled in 2011 and there are some radical Muslim groups there threatening to level five Christian churches simply because they are Christian churches. That’s insane! They claim these five churches don’t have “permits.” Do the mosques have permits in Indonesia I ask? In one of the most horrid of attacks in Ethiopia a CHRISTIAN COUNTRY a group of 500 Muslims burned down a church claiming the church didn’t have a permit even though the church has existed there for the past 60 years on land own by Christians! WTF?
In most Muslim nations Christians are seen as sub-human or 2nd class citizens and persecution in these countries is horrendous. One of the most common forms of abuse of Christians in these countries by Muslims is the sexual abuse of Christian women! Is that a mark of a religion of peace or any religion at all? Rape? I don’t think so! In some of these nations Christians are forced to convert to Islam under threat of death or torture. Laws are arbitrarily enforced against them and theft of Christian owned property is common. Christian homes and churches are routinely burned and there are commonplace attacks against Christians and even killings of Christians. And all this in the name of this “religion of peace” called Islam?
All this is pretty despicable IMO and disgusting in fact. It does NOT fit in with most of the Muslim people I know and have known in the past. Most of them have been peace loving and very tolerant people but these radicals have given Islam and Muslims a really bad name lately.
It’s one thing to claim to be something and anyone can claim to be anything but the PROOF is in actions taken and the radical’s actions in Islam are showing plainly that Islam is not a religion of peace. At least not the form of Islam these radicals support and believe in. In my disgust over all of this I turned to one of our contributors and readers named Mansur Khan for some “enlightenment” and here is what he says about all this:
Mansur Khan–”Just like in Christianity, Islam has many sects, many denominations if you will. Some hold a literal interpretation of the Qur’an like the majority sect in Saudi Arabia while others hold a more esoteric interpretation of the Qur’an as with the Sufi Muslims. Whatever the interpretation the Qur’an makes a few things clear and that is that Jews and Christians are deemed as “People of the Book.” What that means is that according to traditional Islamic faith Jews and Christians and Muslims are all related as they all stem from the faith of Abraham. The Torah was given to the Jews. The Gospels were given to the Christians. And the Qur’an was given to the Muslims. Each is to follow and honor their own sacred text. Sadly, some do not do this.
In Islam, Muslims are obliged not to persecute the People of the Book. It is a sin in Islam to destroy a Church, Synogogue, or Mosque because these are the adobes of God where the faithful gather to worship. So any Muslim who burns down any of these buildings is committing a sin according to Islam. But of course this is not what the radicals believe. They believe it is ok to destroy a church or synagogue but they are grossly mistaken.
When the Muslims first entered into Syria there were no mosques. There was a big Christian church in Damascus and the Christians allowed the Muslims to worship there on Fridays because the Muslims had no place to worship. For a long time this arrangement went very well and the Christians and Muslims in Damascus got along with each other very well as brothers. The Christians decided to build a new church and when they did that they sold the old church to their Muslim brothers. The church then became a mosque. The first mosque in Syria and it still stands today. It is the Grand Mosque in Damascus. This shows true Islam in my opinion. People of the Book getting along as brethren instead of being enemies. This is the way it should be and all of this killing of Muslim, Christian, and Jew is wrong! All three faiths share common roots and worship the same God. What do we think God thinks of us all by doing these horrible things we are doing? I would say he’s very disappointed in us all and we’d all better change our ways.”
We all like to believe that our particular religion is a religion of peace but is it really? All religions have more human blood on their hands than all human wars combined. That really is not a hallmark for any religion to claim to be a religion of peace. It’s sad that people actions seldom mesh with their words and, most often, their actions expose them for what they really believe and feel. Religion has a long history of murder, pillage, rape, persecution, and many other injustices. At some point we must all begin to ask what do we really worship? A god who is the God of Love or a god who is the ruler of death? Christians, Muslims, and Jews may be “brethren” as Mansur says but why don’t they act like brethren? When you look at things as a whole humanity really is a sad lot. We can claim to be anything we wish but, in the end, our actions betray us all. Somehow I think we might do far better as a species by making our actions match our words and our words match our actions. At least then we would not continue to be a species of hypocrites. And that, dear comrades, is the sad truth about who we really are on this planet today.
In some ways I don’t blame God for wanting to wash his hands of all of us. What an unruly creation we are. We claim with our mouths to love peace and life yet we serve up our neighbors head on a divine platter. What hypocrisy! I think it is time Muslim, Christian, and Jew correct their ways and stop going our own ways which lead to death, pillage, and ruin. If we don’t then we only have death and horror to look forwards to I suspect and, honestly, I really don’t want anything to do with a world or species such as that!
Reblogged this on Boudica BPI Weblog and commented:
I just visited http://persecution.com
Had not been there before and want to thank you for this posy as well as the link. Will people ever wake up or are they now accustomed to living in a stupor. Obamunism, New World Order, Agenda 21, Islam and on and on and the people sit dumb accepting it all. WTF?
Bob A.
The few will save this world Bob. The many will pay the price I suspect and sadly.
Rob, what most people do not realize is that Islam is not a religion. In most of Islam’s sects, it is more a totalitarian system of governance. This is why those who oppose can justly be killed. Just as the Stalin and Pol Pot regimes murdered any who opposed them the same is true with Islam. Iran, Syria and Libya are prime examples. Imagine if the Catholic Church had the death penalty for members who used contraceptives, or ate meat on Fridays. Back during the crusades and Spanish Inquisition the Church was a totalitarian system and was most rigid on it members when it came to following the rules. Totalitarianism has never and will never servive.
I think you are right Bill save for the sect of Sufism. From what I know about that sect it is the more esoteric or mystical branch of Islam. Personally I think all of our religions have been hijacked including Christianity. Look at all of the prosperity theology garbage. You know, God is a magic genie and wants you to be rich. What a load of crap! Also from what I see in the news what is being passed off as Islam has more to do with politics and iron fisted rule than anything else IMO. I think it is more a political agenda being pushed than a faith. Christianity went through its dark hour during the Inquisitions and Judaism has been through its dark hour too. So maybe what we are seeing is Islam’s dark hour today.
One thing I was told long ago was something I will not forget and that is this: “All human religions have been invented by man to divide and separate humanity and keep them that way. God has not sanctioned even one of these invented religions. God does not want any of these religions. All God wants is our faithful love.” That pretty well sums religion up for me. I think at some point humanity needs to get passed their religions and into spirituality or whatever stands higher and better.
100% correct. I am tired of the “my God is bigger and stronger than your God”! There is only ONE God! And I am sure He is ‘so’ proud that so many have been killed in His name…uggggg! This is part of why I have lost faith in mankind.
The # 1 song of 1969 was “The year 2525″ A one hit wonder by Zager and Evans. In two of its stanzas it reads: “in the year 7510, if God’s a coming He ought to make it there by then. Maybe He’ll look around Himself and say, guess it’s time for the judgement day. In the year 8510, God’s a gonna shake His mighty head, He’ll either say I’m pleased where man has been or tear it down and start it again, whoa woooo”
I imagine he’s already shaking his head saying WTF. It’s really sad that we just won’t get past our invented religions and move on.
“survive” sorry. Rob, can you have an edit option…I hate looking stupid with simple spelling mistakes…lol.
